Lourdes is an assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacy at the University of Copenhagen and obtained her PhD in Health Sciences at Copenhagen University. She holds a Master in Public Health, Copenhagen University, a Master in International Cooperation and Development studies and a MA in Economics, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain.

Lourdes has 8 years of experience in teaching, supervision and research, including several projects focused on market access for pharmaceutical products and access to medicines in emerging economies. Her main research areas are socioeconomic determinants in access and use of medicines and patients’ perspectives on medicine use. She has more than 10 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects focused on supporting health sector reforms in developing countries.

Lourdes is a temporary advisor for World Health Organization – European Region and key expert in health for the European Commission DG International Cooperation and Development.
